Jean Chatauret

Jean Chatauret began his professional career as a sound engineer with PolyGram. He joined the Erato label in 1984, becoming Technical Director, then Director of Production. From the analog recordings of the 1980s to high definition and 5.1 surround sound, he supervised the technical developments of the celebrated French label, remodelled its studios, selected and operated its equipment. He is the creator of Soundways.

He has made hundreds of recordings with the most eminent artists and ensembles, among them Daniel Barenboim, Pierre Boulez, Kent Nagano, Bernard Haitink, Cecilia Bartoli, Roberto Alagna, Mstislav Rostropovich, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra, and the San Francisco Opera. His recordings have won many prizes, including several Grammy nominations and two Grammy Awards for best operatic recording, in 2000 and 2003.

He has also taken part in opera films (Zulawski’s Boris Godunov), numerous productions for video (ballets, operas, festivals), and creations of music for the theatre. In 1999, he made the first French recording in high-definition multichannel sound for the DVD audio format.

In the field of education he has given classes on music recording at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris and at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumière.

Mireille Faure

Musician – Sound engineer

Graduated from the advanced course in professional sound techniques at the Paris Conservatoire, Mireille has implemented her skills in commercial audio and audiovisual recordings for more than ten years.

Enriching collaborations with Musica Numeris, Little Tribeca, Kairos Musique, the CD label L' »Encelade », l'Orchestre National d'Ile de France, Telmondis,, François Roussillon et Associés and France Television, have nourished and enlarged her experience.

With Soundways, she has been music producer and sound engineer on several audiovisual productions, selecting takes, performing the music editing and mixing these complex projects.

Since 2014, she has been teaching stereophonic sound recording techniques, editing and mixing classical music at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumiere, Paris.
